For those of you who've never heard of The Wanted, you're in for a nice surprise. This five-member boy band based in London, England, have a really nice sound, recently released their second studio album, "Battleground," and they're currently in the middle of their very first tour of the United States.
I first became aware of The Wanted through the Facebook page of Splash promoter Dougie Meyer, who really, really likes them. He booked them for an appearance at the club a few short weeks ago and although I wasn't on hand to see it, I'm sure they put on a great show for the crowd.
In the weeks that followed, Dougie would post a video or other mention of the group, every now and then and so the name stayed in my head, but I never pressed play. That is, until Friday when another Facebook friend of mine posted this video. This timeI did press the 'play' button and I really , really loved what I saw and heard.
The song "Glad You Came" has a really nice back beat that kind of reminds me of the Greek Islands for some reason. (The video looks like it may have been shot there, as well.) The melodies are fantastic as well and its got a chorus that sticks in your head long after a listen. So, if you find that you trust my judgement in good music, give this one a try. I think you're gonna like it!
