Hey folks...Happy Hump Day!  It's the last one of the school year for me.  Now don't be jealous...unlike what many people think, summer is not all vacation for teachers.  Some of us have to work, including me.  Wahhhh!!!!!

Anyway, here's your weekly Writing Wednesday:

Let the Fun Begin

After several sappy personal posts, it was nice to get back to writing about some good stuff as I enjoyed a great weekend last week.  Let's hope it's the start of better things to come!  Check out the post right here.

As I mentioned in a post the other day, I revamped an old review of the coasters of Hersheypark to include the all-new Skyrush roller coaster.  Oh, and I posted a video of one of my favorite Hershey coasters, Storm Runner.  Check out the review of this great park right here.

This Week on Long Island

As usual, there's plenty of summer stuff to do around this expansive and beautiful island I live on, including a couple of great concerts, a horror film festival, outdoor festivals and more.  So if you live in the Long Island area, be sure to check out Things to do on Long Island this weekend.

Hersheypark's "Storm Runner" - One Wild Ride!

Tonight I reworked an Examiner piece on the coasters of Hersheypark, to reflect their current lineup of coasters that now includes the all new hypercoaster Skyrush. While adding video links to several of the coasters, I came across this one.  I've been to Hershey several times and this one I remembered as being very intimidating.  It's design is similar to that of Great Adventure's Kingda Ka, only not as high and fast, and with more of a ride.  Very cool!

One added bonus to this ride is watching riders from the ground.  As they sit and wait in terrifying anticipation for the launch of the coaster, the looks on their faces when it finally launches is worth the price of admission to the park.  Remember this if you should ever go.  In the meantime, the video below takes you on a front seat ride, as well as a second look at the coaster from afar.  Very nice, especially if you're a coaster nut like me!

Hersheypark's all new Skyrush hyper-coaster

Take a point of view ride on Hersheypark's newest roller coaster, Skyrush.  The new ride is a hyper-coaster, with a height of over 200 feet and reaching speeds of up to 75 mph.  Skyrush is this great park's tallest ride and it opened this past weekend.
