P!nk Week Song of the Day - M!Ssundaztood

About three or four years ago I was in Atlantic City and I forgot to bring my iPod player with me, which is a really bad thing because I like to have music playing while I'm getting ready. Luckily the television in my room had a music channel where you could rent albums to listen to and when I came across P!nk's Missundaztood, I played it out of curiosity. Well, starting with this opening song (and the album's first single), I was P!nk hooked! Many of you mainstream P!nk fans may not know this song,, and the studio version is much better, but it is good, and it's P!nk!

Daniel Martinez' Open Letter to Chief Justice Roberts

I have a friend that I follow on Facebook who shares some of the most interesting and insightful stories, particularly ones that involve LGBT issues.  His name is Dane B. McFadhen and earlier today he posted a story on a 12 year-old boy, Daniel Martinez-Leffew, that I'd like to share here.

Daniel resides in Northern California with his two adoptive dads and younger sister.  With the Supreme Court about to hear cases concerning California's Prop 8 and the Defense of Marriage Act, or DOMA, Daniel felt compelled to write to Chief Justice John Roberts, who recently adopted two children of his own.

Like Dane says in his post, I will not give away what he says, but instead allow you to take a look and a listen to this sweet, charming and clever young man.  Daniel, you rock!

Wicked Shot of a Tornado in Branson, Mo

Take a look at this shot of an apparent tornado that touched down in Branson, Missouri earlier today.  A swath of strong storms hit the southeast today, in parts of Missouri, Georgia and Alabama.  As we're currently getting pounded by yet another winter storm (this one's called Ukko???), I'm happy we don't have to deal with this kind of weather up here in the northeast.

Happy Monday and welcome to P!nk Week on John's World!  Yes, Ms. Thang is coming to my area this weekend and I'm hoping to see her twice, once at Nassau Coliseum one week from today and again this Friday at MSG.  I am so excited I can barely stand it!

Ah, there she was, brash and tough, where it all started out, back in 2000, when the word 'pink' stood for the singer's hair.  The song is a lot R&B, and pretty darned good, the type of stuff she did when she first came on the scene, and at that point we had no idea where she'd be going.  Enjoy!
