Song of the Day - American Boy - Estelle, with Kanye West

elaneymedia

It's hard to believe this song is practically five years old.  Back in 2008, this song was all over the place.  It was catchy, irresistible, and a lot of fun to sing along to.  The song made me a fan of the now 33 year-old British R&B singer, songwriter and rapper.  Her album Shine, on which this song appeared, was chock full of dance ditties, fun pop tunes and a couple of nice ballads, too.

Estelle has since released another record, All of Me, in 2012, but it hasn't fared nearly as well as the former.  I featured a couple of songs from All of Me, and I like the album.  It's really too bad the thing sputtered, because I might have paid it more attention on my own. Ah well, keep a going Ms. Estelle!

Song of the Day - E.T. - Katy Perry, ft. Kanye West

You're so hypnotizing
Could you be the devil?
Could you be an angel?

I'm currently working on some pieces about the best of the best in music 2011 and I came across this very successful song from Ms. Perry. I'm not sure if I've ever featured it before, but since I can't seem to get it out of my head these past 24 hours I figured I'd share it today. It's so hypno, hypno, hypnotizing...Enjoy!

Kiss me, kiss me
Infect me with your love and
Fill me with your poison

Today's song is a recent hit by British singer Estelle, who's soon to be releasing her new album, "All of Me," much to my excitement. Of course this one features the raps of Mr. Kanye West and it was Estelle's biggest hit to date, but her first album, "Shine," from which this came, was really, really good! Check out my review of it here to read more, and if you're looking for some good R&B/pop/dance stuff, give "Shine" a try below.
