I've been going through a lot of my iPod lately, listening to stuff I haven't listened to in a long time, Some of my favorite music folders like Christina Aguilera and Gnarles Barkley, Gorillaz, R&B Faves, Janet Jackson and Jody Watley. In today's world of perennially downloading rapid-fire new music, it's easy to forget some of the great stuff you've already got in your collection, and so once in awhile I delve into my device a little deeper to rediscover all the great stuff I often forget existed.
Yesterday I was listening to my Kelis folder. I've become such a fan of the singer in recent years starting with her 2010 single, Acapella. Before that song I'd only known of her really through her very first smash, 2003's Milkshake, in which teased and catcalled her way to a top ten hit. At the time, she appeared to be simply a one-dimensional singer. But that is definitely not the case. Though she really hasn't matched the success of that down n dirty classic, her catalog runs deep with some great, great stuff, which was what I had been listening to before I got to this one, which I had forgotten about, stuck at the bottom of my Kelis playlist, and all I can say is I had a lot of fun reliving it. I hope you do, too....
