These types of thrill rides pick up a lot of speed simply from the height of the thing and usually riders get lots and lots of airtime from the many hills that exist on such a ride. Giga's are simply a bigger spin on what used to be known as a 'hyper coaster,' which are famous for high hills and fast speeds, like Magnum XL-200 at Cedar Point or Nitro at Six Flags Great Adventure, two of my personal favorites. Up until now I've only ridden one giga: Millennium Force (308 feet) at Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio, and man was it awesome!
Leviathan stands at a height of 306 feet and at 92 miles per hour speeds, it is the 8th fastest coaster in the world. The ride opened on April 27th and I'm sure it's more thrilling to ride than to watch it on video. Too bad it was an empty ride...no screams!
Canada's Wonderland is operated by Cedar Fair and it is located Vaughn, Ontario, Canada, about 40 minutes from downtown Toronto. Check out the park's website here for more.
