I subscribe to a page on Facebook called Disco, Soul Gold and they posted this picture the other day which led me to an afternoon of Diana Ross music and lots of reminiscing. That was Tuesday, I believe, and I already knew from then that I'd be putting up a Diana Ross video for Flashback Friday. The only real decision I had to make was which song...there are so many to choose from!
It's My House appeared on Diana's first 'disco' record, The Boss, in 1979, and it was one of my favorites off the album. That's one of the reasons I chose it, but the other reason came out of my weekend in Pennsylvania a couple of weeks ago. You see, Peter, our host, did a memorable little routine to RuPaul's House of Love, which no doubt was inspired by this song. So having that still fresh in my mind really did it for me.
I wasn't sure which video to put today, so I posted two of them. The first is not really a video at all, but an audio track of the original cut, and the second is Diana doing it live from Vegas in what is one of my favorite concert videos. So either way, enjoy It's My House.
