Will the Spice Girls Spice Up Your Life Again in 2012?

Colours of the world
Spice up your life
Every boy and every girl
Spice up your life
People of the world
Spice up your life

Could it be true? Will our lives once again be “spiced-up” in 2012? Reports are out this morning that the popular 90’s Brit girl group the Spice Girls are yearning for a comeback blast beginning at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. Yes, Scary (Melanie Brown), Baby (Emma Lee Bunton), Ginger (Geri Haliwell), and Sporty (Melanie Chisholm) are all on board for an appearance at the opening for the summer games, but Posh Spice (Victoria Beckham), who moved to LA several years ago with soccer star husband David Beckham, is said to be the one holdout of the bunch.

The Spice Girls became a world-wide phenomenon in 1996 when their first #1 single, “Wannabe” broke out and for the next three or four years, “Spice-mania” gripped the globe. The girls had a brief comeback reunion tour in 2007-08, but since then they’ve been out of the spotlight…until now.

Some reports have said that the reunion appearance at the Olympic Games would include a medley of their hits, as well as some new stuff, but unless the girls can convince Posh, who’s quite happy living in LA and out of the spotlight, to sign on the dotted line, this reunion will remain just a pipe dream. Stay tuned…

In the meantime, check out the closing number from the girls’ hit movie, “Spice Up Your Life”:
