Song of the Day - Bette Davis Eyes - Kim Carnes

I actually couldn't wait to post this "Song of the Day." 'Bette Davis Eyes' is such a cool song! I remember when it first came out in 1981, it was all over the place. Whether you liked it or not, you knew it, but most people liked it anyway, including me. The music track is so recognizable, the synthesizer rhythms, the hand clapping, and Kim Carnes raspy voice gave this one a haunting, yet comforting sound. (I heard it used as a sample in a club once and it was awesome!)

So if you don't know the song, check it out. It might take a couple of listens, but it's very much worth it. You might not even know who Bette Davis is, but it really doesn't matter. And if you do know it, relive some happy memories in your mind and take a listen. You'll be singing the words you didn't even know you remembered. Either way, 'Bette Davis Eyes' is one great, classic song!

Her hair is Harlowe gold
Her lips sweet surprise
Her hands are never cold
She's got Bette Davis eyes
