Madonna's "Girl Gone Wild" Video
Finally, after a long day away from the pc, I sat down and watched Madge's new video for the second single of her upcoming "M.D.N.A." album. Initial thought: I'm loving it! It's got much better across-the-board appeal than "Gimme All Your Luvin'," which was deemed too kitschy and unfortunately faded too quickly. "Girl Gone Wild" is produced by Madonna, Benny Benassi and Alle Benassi and contains hints of both the "Ray of Light" and "Confessions on a Dance Floor" albums. Look for this one to do much better than "Gimme."
The video for "Girl Gone Wild" is very reminiscent, at first, to the black and white videos of "Vogue," "Erotica," and "Justify My Love." The looks are similar, some of the shots are similar, and even some of the cinematography is similar. But the feel is more contemporary, and complete with "comely shirtless gentlemen" and some cool gravity-defying walking on walls (Hmmm, she did that too in the "Gimme All Your Luvin'" video?). All in all, "Girl Gone Wild" is an engaging video to watch and fun to sing and dance along to, too! Thumbs Up!
P.S. - I think I see a little Gaga at the end???? Anyone else catch that? Cool!
